.UPDATE...
Updated aviation section.

&&

&&

.KEY MESSAGES...
1. Warmer Wednesday and Thursday before a slight drop on
Friday. There is a 35 to 60 percent chance of triple digits on
Wednesday.

2. Major cool down on Saturday into Sunday with humidities
recovering especially in the Sierra Nevada.

3. Wind gusts pick up Thursday afternoon and evening through
the weekend for the Mojave Desert and Slopes.

&&

.DISCUSSION...
We have a weak ridge of high pressure over the Pacific Coast
keeping us warm with a minor heat risk. Wednesday brings a 35 to 60
percent chance of triple digits for most Valley locations with a
60 to 95 percent chance of high temperatures of at least 105 degrees
for the Mojave Desert and Slopes. Probabilities decrease on Thursday
with a 30 to 90 percent chance of highs of at least 105 in Eastern
Kern County and a 45 to 80 percent chance of triple digits in the
San Joaquin Valley from Fresno on south.

Temperatures decrease Friday into the weekend as a strong trough slides
in. There is an at least 80 percent chance of high temperatures below 85
degrees on Saturday for the Valley. In the Mojave Slopes and Desert, wind
speeds will pick up with this trough. Mojave has a 50 to 75 percent chance
of max gusts of at least 60 mph. A wind product is not out of the question
this far out for the Mojave Slopes and Desert.

.AVIATION...
06Z Update:

VFR conditions will prevail for the next 24 hours across the Central
California Interior.

&&

.FIRE WEATHER...
Minimum RH values 15 to 25 percent will continue across much of
the region through the rest of the week with localized higher
values in the foothill areas. As the aforementioned trough moves
in later this week, winds will increase across the area, with
maximum gusts on Friday and Saturday approaching 25 mph in the
San Joaquin Valley and approaching 35 to 45 mph in the Mojave
Slopes and near Lake Isabella.
